The Weald and Downland Museum recently held a Heavy Horse event, with the theme primarily centered around War Horses.

Participants included Selaed Knot Enterprises, the Mounted 16th Lancer display, a GS wagon, horse-drawn horse ambulance, the Queen’s Own Royal West Kent Regiment LHG, and Andrew Robertshaw, Curator of the Royal Logistics Corps Museum who provided a superb commentary and shared his experiences of acting as military consultant to Stephen Spielberg’s award winning film, War Horse.

In addition, the Royal Armouries provided the Fort Nelson based World War 1 18 pounder and limber, pulled by a team of Robert Sampson’s Percherons, and manned by the Ubique Group.
